Chestnuts are nothing short of highly nutritious wildlife magnets that produce crops annually beginning at a very young age…in fact its highly possible to see a few nuts on saplings as young as three years old. And chestnuts aren’t just for wildlife- they make for a tasty and filling snack for us humans too! Although we refer to our chestnuts as Chinese (because they largely resemble Chinese strains), there’s a tad bit of American, Japanese, Korean, and European genetics in the mix as well. Our chestnuts come from a grafted orchard of many different blight resistant/tolerant strains and cultivars grown in USDA hardiness zone 6a, just a few miles from zone 5b. That will ensure you’ll get some of the most cold tolerant chestnut seedlings available. On top of that, we only collect seed from trees that crop mid to late season so your trees will have a better chance of dropping mast during hunting season. Multiple strains for increased diversity, mid to late season drop times, cold hardiness, proven in the South, annual production beginning at a young age, absolute wildlife magnets- Nativ Nurseries Rapid Mast Chestnuts!

Great Saplings
These saplings were in great shape when received and bigger than expecting. I bought 5 American Persimmons from Nativ Nurseries 4 years ago and they have done great, 2 actually had 10 or 12 persimmons on each tree this year which I wasn’t expecting this soon, but was happy to see I think the deer were even happier.

Hurricane Chestnuts
I purchased three trees along with the tree guards for two Chestnut trees and one Totten Oak hybrid. When I received the trees in good shape, the leaves were a little brown. But that was expected. I planted them a day or two before Hurricane Milton arrived. The trees survived (had to replant the Totten Oak, water washed away the soil around the root ball). I would suggest getting the tree guards when you purchase your trees. I have planted trees before but the deer have killed them rubbing their horns. I hope the chestnuts do well, I am pretty far south (40 miles north of Tampa). Looking forward to seeing how they grow and produce.

No Refund Policy:
Mossy Oak Nativ Nurseries (Nativ Nurseries) guarantees that our product will arrive in good condition, alive, and true to its name as labeled. We take care in packaging our products. If your order is incorrect or does not arrive in good condition, contact our customer service desk within five (5) business days from your receipt of the product to report any mistake in your order or damage to the product. No refunds will be given however but, we will fix our mistake or rectify any damage by replacing the product at our expense. Nativ Nurseries makes no warranty, expressed or implied for any certain rate of growth or productivity for any of our plant products. Nativ Nurseries will not be responsible for crop failure, damage to products after the customer has received an order, or injuries due to non-recommended zone planting, frost damage, or any man made or natural cause beyond our control. Nativ Nurseries will consider replacing an order if a claim is made in writing or e-mail within five (5) business days from your receipt of the product explaining in detail what problems have occurred.
