This is one of our favorite soft mast species that for some reason isn’t very well known among gamekeepers, and we’d like to change that.
Mexican plum will thrive just about anywhere from hilly sites to bottomlands, where it quickly becomes a small tree that drop loads of fruit from late summer on into early fall. Because the fruits mature at such a critical time period when there isn’t much food around, wildlife flock to them and take advantage of all the vitamins, minerals, and even moisture plums offer.
Even better, Mexican plums fit right in along tight spaces like roads, pipelines, clearcuts, or powerline edges, and stretch out just enough to get the sun they need to produce bountiful crops. Even after taller trees have outcompeted Mexican plum, they still manage to produce plenty of fruit.
Unlike Chickasaw plums, these are rather tart, and make one of the best jellies you’ve ever tasted. Definitely trust us on this unsung winner and give it a shot…we can assure you’ll be mucho impresso.

Small to medium sized reddish yellow skin. Can be sweet or tart in flavor. Very attractive to wildlife.
Ordered 2 of these along with 2 of another variety and they shipped the day I requested. Packaged well and arrived whole...nothing broken and the soil was moist.
I put them in a container of soil until I can plant them; watered them in. They have leaves and hopefully will do great here in Southeast Texas. I am hoping for a tiny grove in an area of my yard that I can mow around to keep them from spreading too much. Selfishly wanting fruit for myself and friends. Although I am sure wildlife will get their portion---they always seem smarter than me..lol Thanks for excellent product and service.

Live plants and seedlings: Orders without a specific ship date selected at check out are shipped via UPS the first shipping day following the day the order is received.
